We are building the future of well delivery

Where operators plan, simulate, and compare scenarios with clarity, speed, and transparent economics. Teams quantify trade-offs across cost, time, and production, then consistently select the efficient frontier across entire programs.

FROM BEING IN YOUR POSITION, TO HELPING YOU

Our journey from internal innovation to industry impact

2018 - Roots in Real-World Complexity

PrePad’s origins trace back to Shell, where a team of engineers developed an early prototype using a sophisticated network of Excel workbooks, custom code, and decades of operational domain experience. The result was the Integrated Systems Model — a tool built by engineers, for engineers — designed to capture the complex interdependencies between drilling, completions, reservoir, and economic decisions.

2021 - Evolved from Internal R&D at Shell

Recognizing a broader industry need, the founding team evolved the concept from internal R&D at Shell and launched PrePad as an independent company — with Shell’s support. Product development began with a clear mission: empower operators to test, refine, and optimize plans before putting capital on the line.

2022 - Version 1 & Real-World Pilots

We launched our first completions module with a modern user interface. Pilot projects with Shell Canada, Artis Exploration, and Devon Energy validated the platform in live operations, demonstrating its value in the field.

2023 - Expanding Capabilities

PrePad expanded to include Drilling, Reservoir, and Economics modules. Early adopters participated in paid pilots and consulting engagements, helping shape the product with real-world feedback and frontline insight.

2024 - SaaS Launch & Strategic Partnerships

We launched our full Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering, focused on completions planning. Devon Energy joined as a strategic partner. Operators now had a purpose-built tool to reduce planning cycles, improve design confidence, and maximize capital efficiency.

2025 - Scaling with Our Clients

With clients across North America, PrePad continues to evolve—releasing new features driven by operator feedback and field priorities. We’re building with our users to solve the challenges that matter most to high-performing teams.
